FAQ about Boat Charters

Everything you need to know is on this website other than the financial side of things and I'll liaise with your group organiser over that.

Under normal circumstances the group organiser will talk to me regarding everything there is to know about their groups diving holiday or weekend break with Deep Blue Diving. If you need to ask any question then why not first try your organiser more often than not you may not be able to get hold of me as my phone is often out of range as I'm offshore diving with another group or teaching. If you do need to know anything that your organiser cannot answer have a look at the most frequently asked question below and see how I've replied to them................Cheers Richy

Boat FAQ's
where can I get Air from? Have you got air?
Our boat has NOT got a compressor on board and the skipper will NOT be able to fill your cylinders, we have a shop close by so if you want to do a second dive please bring a second cylinder. We cannot begin to fill cylinders on the morning of the first dive as we have to load and get underway. If you need air before your first dive you can get your cylinder filled at our shop on the water front but don't make the boat late give yourself time REMEMBER THE TIDE WAITS FOR NO ONE!.

Is there Nitrox on board?
The answer is NO. Not on the boat at least If you need any gas at all then we can supply that from our shop close to the waterfront.

Where will I find the boat?
Endeavour is moored by the floating pontoons close to the mountbattern Centre. When you reach the mountbattern car park find somewhere to park and wander down to the waterfront you will see the boat and where you have to pull your car in to unload.Don’t leave you car hanging around too long as this is a no parking zone buy you should have time to load your stuff onto the boat. Click here for directions >>

Is there a toilet on board?
YES there is and we have toilet roll but please read the instructions on how to use it as we don’t want to spend the day unblocking it if you use it wrong.

How many people can the boat take?
The boat is licensed to carry 12 customers we cannot by law take anymore so please don’t ask us to. We have two crew on board as well and that’s all we can take. If you want to bring anyone else with you they will have to form part of the group charter organised by the group leader.

Is there O2 and First aid on board?
Yes there is and we have had to use it. Let’s hope we don’t with your group.

Do we have to pay more if we want to go further offshore?
Yes you do we have specific prices for specific distances worked out on a radius from Weymouth and it’s basically a fuel surcharge. If your diving deep wrecks with us and you are going a long way offshore your organiser will be familiar with the charges they will tell you.

Can I leave my diving gear safely around at night on the boat?
Yes you can as we have means to lock everything up so there's not need to lug your gear on and off every night.

Who drives the boat?
Your skipper is called Nick Hall click here >> if Nick is unavailable you may have Richard Stevenson at the helm.

Diving FAQ's
What is slack water?
Slack water is the period of time when the speed of the water flowing into or out of the English Channel is dive able. We can only dive the wrecks that are affected by the tide at certain times and it won’t wait for us. This means that time schedules throughout your holiday will move on an hour each day. Sometimes we may have to leave very early in the morning and be back earlier. This is normally what happens on the last day so you can get away and home for a reasonable time.

When will the slack be?
The skipper will tell you when slack will be and it will be written on the board on the dive boats door each day. You will not need to ask.
